There is a lead guide and assistant guide for the AM half of the day and then a different lead guide and assistant guide for the PM.  In this way the guides have full energy for their students in the classroom and plenty of time to prepare individualized lesson plans for each child during their office hours.

We strive for a true partnership with parents.  We use a program called, "Transparent Classroom" that lets the parent know daily what their child is learning, how they are doing and tips for each lesson if they'd like to help at home. Parents are more involved and informed with their child's learning.

Children are challenged from where they are at with an individualized curriculum. This allows them to build confidence, succeed faster and rise farther than being frustrated or bored with a standardized approach.

Learning focuses on their own interests which leads to an enjoyment of learning and innovation.

In a Montessori classroom, materials & tactile manipulatives are used to help describe concepts and guide learning.  This allows the child to gain a deeper understanding in a concrete (tactile) way before moving onto the abstract (worksheets). They also discover the answers themselves which makes it easier to remember vs just being told.

We currently have one Pre-K-K Classroom (ages 4-5), one Lower Elementary Classroom (grades 1-3) and one Upper Elementary Classroom (grades 4-8).
Mixing the age groups provides the younger children a chance to observe and learn from the older children, they become excited to do what their peers are doing.  The older children in turn, mentor the younger and become role models, mastering skills as they help guide.

Rising Heights Academy has over 10,000 books for children to have direct access to fiction or informative texts.

We use a leveled literacy program that utilizes these books so the children are reading at their own level. They grow in fluency and comprehension at their own challenging pace.  This helps to foster a life-long love of reading and discovery.

These lessons focus on teaching children social skills, manners, and how to interact respectfully with others, including anti-bullying. The goal is to help children develop a strong sense of social awareness, empathy, and consideration for others.  With these lessons we aim to create a positive and respectful community within the classroom.  The focus is on nurturing the whole child, including their social and emotional development, alongside academic learning. 

At RHA we focus on building a culture that focuses on communication and collaboration.  There's a team of educators available to help each individual student rise to their own unique potential.  Each lead guide is well educated with degrees and certifications so that each child has the best resources at their disposal.
